Affiliate Marketing: How To Get More Organic Traffic
An affiliate marketer is a person or company who markets other people's products on the internet for a commission on each sale referred.
There are a ton of people do this because they can start making money almost immediately without the expenses and time needed to produce a product on their own. Having a website, while helpful, is not necessary and there is no interaction with your potential customers beyond leading them to the sales page.
Becoming an affiliate marketer is a wonderful opportunity to make a lot of money on the Internet, but you should not go into it blindly.
As an affiliate, you must put some time into research and testing. In fact, it is absolutely necessary. Knowing what products you want to promote, how much potential profit on each sale, and the refund rate of the product will help you determine winning campaigns from losing ones. If possible, it’s a good idea to buy the product you are an affiliate for or request a preview copy so you know the product and how it can help the customers you refer.
As a brand new affiliate, it’s always a good idea to start with reasonably priced products making at least 50% commission.
The most vital part of affiliate marketing is (of course) the marketing part. The issue of how to get traffic to your offers is one of the most fundamental skills in making any money online.
You can divide your marketing campaign into two separate groups, paid and organic. Free marketing (although it does require time and/or effort) can be quite effective if you know how to do it. Here is a list of the most popular methods for getting traffic for free.
- Article marketing. A great way to increase your ranking with search engines and direct targeted traffic to your sites. You should write about what you know. If you do not have more information on your product than does the average reader you should probably choose another niche. Write your article in a conversational tone so that it’s easier to read. Don’t make your article too long; remember it’s an article you are writing, not a book. A length of 500–750 words should be fine. Your article should be informative and about your website topic. If it's just useless information your readers will expect the same from your website.
- Blogging. Writing a blog is another good way to drive traffic to your site and improve your search engine rankings. Blogs were originally used as online diaries but have become a valuable business and marketing tool. Your blog should be focused on your chosen niche. You could have several blogs with different providers and include your links in your blogs and profile page. This is a good technique for increasing traffic and improving search engine rankings.
- Forums. Participating in forum discussions is a great way to meet people and make connections in your industry or niche. It is also helpful to get your URL out there on every post you make. You should join forums related to the niche you are targeting or the product you are selling. When you sign up for a forum you usually have the option of adding a signature. This signature will show up at the bottom of every post you make in the forum and should be used to promote your affiliate product links and your main websites. Whenever you make new posts you will then be creating new links back to your site, while also attracting the attention of forum readers.
- Social Bookmarking. This is a valuable and reliable way to get traffic and backlinks to your site. There are many social bookmarking sites such as Pinterest and Reddit. These sites allow you to share your content along with a description for the public hence the term social bookmarking. The primary purpose is to put your links in front of people who would potentially also bookmark and share your site giving you more backlinks.
- Social Media sites. Facebook is one of the largest online communities with billions of members. It is a great place for networking with other people who hold the same interests and marketing. Another great benefit of Facebook is that it has tons of different forums and groups related to specific niches. Focus on joining these groups that are related to your niche or industry and providing valuable content to help the members there. This will lead to many profile views and leads for your affiliate business. A similar method can also be used on other social media sites like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter.
Use these methods to drive more traffic to your affiliate marketing business. The more traffic you get, the more leads and sales you will also get as a result.
